NEW RED OAK MIDDLE SCHOOL

Following the passage of a $97.5M bond in May 2023, a second Red Oak ISD middle school will be built on the west side of the District off Westmoreland Rd. south of Ovilla Rd. Scheduled to open in August 2025, the new middle school will include a wing-concept layout with a capacity for up to 1,200 students in grades 6-8. Currently, Red Oak Middle School has about 1,550 students.

The school layout will house academics on one half of the campus and electives and extra-curricular activities on the other side, allowing for a quiet and less quiet concept. Three academic wings will include three interior courtyards for outdoor learning. The cafetorium and library design is flexible for both daily functions and evening activities. The school’s main gym will serve as the required storm shelter and outdoor PE and athletics will include tennis courts and a multi-sport field with a track.

The exterior will be complimentary to other ROISD schools with an inviting front facade, secure vestibule entrance, and modest brick and stone design. The facility will be approximately 188,000 square feet on the front of a 45-acre tract in the City of Ovilla.
